Nomad of the Year.
Paul Fearon was voted Nomad of the Year for 1998. Paul had probably his best ever season for the Nomads and this was the first time that he had won the award. A string of solid batting performances, notably 105 against Meriden and 77 against Barton, meant that he passed the 500 runs in a season total for the first time. His bowling was also consistent and he took 23 wickets at an average of 22.4.

Performance of the Year.
Pete Blackburn won the Performance of the Year trophy for 1998. Pete bowled better than ever and benefited from a punishing winter fitness regime. On several occasions Pete took vital wickets within a few balls of coming on to bowl. As well as his outstanding 4-42 against a strong Woore side he also took a blinding caught and bowled against Belgium's finest opening batsman in the return match against Mechelen.

Fielder of the Year.
Keith once again excelled in the field. The outstanding memory is when he took a steepling catch on the boundary to dismiss Archer in the match against Glebelands.

Gonad of the year.
There was a lot of competition for the trophy this year with Nigel Tungate, Phil Higginson, Akin Hussein, Chris Rowland, Pete Blackburn and John Hoddy all tieing on 3 Gonads each. The tension went to the last match with several Nomads in with a chance of winning but Nigel won on the least number of runs scored.

Fantasy Cricket.
Pete Willis led from the start and was never caught as his team Beached Whale cruised to victory. He also appeared in the Telegraph top 100 at various points during the season.
